Frequently Asked Questions

What can I borrow?
We have various hobby/craft tools and tech, like sewing machines, sergers, sewing accessories, mannequins, photography equipment, Cricut, and more to come!

How does it work?
You reserve equipment online for a week minimum. Pay the fee online, and sign your Renter Agreement online or when you pick up the equipment.

How long can I keep the equipment?
Rentals are default one week long, but you can add up to 4 weeks to your reservation. You can reserve equipment if it is available, and renew if no one else is waiting (up to a 4 week total rental period)

When and where do I pick up the tools?
You will pick up the tool(s) at the Smoky Hill Library (5430 S. Biscay Circle, Centennial, CO 80015) Friday-Sunday during the hours listed on the reservation page (email us for exceptions).

You will meet with someone from Maker Share, so please don’t drop off rentals unattended.

How much does it cost?
Affordable rental prices are listed on the product’s page.

Can you teach me how to use the equipment?
You can purchase a half-hour lesson on the sewing machine or a half hour walk through on the Cricut or 3D Printer for $30. You can add this to your cart.

For all other equipment it is encouraged to read the instructions/manual or use online resources.

What if the equipment is malfunctioning?
Call Maker Share at 720-642-8551 or email makersharecolorado@gmail.com if you feel like there is an issue with the equipment. Do not try to make repairs.

What if I damage/destroy the equipment?
You would be responsible for the replacement/repair cost of the item. Contact Maker Share if you feel like you damaged/broke the equipment. We can assess if the item is actually broken from there.

How many pieces of equipment can I borrow at a time?
As much as you want!

What do I need to pick up the equipment?
A photo ID that matches the rental name or an authorized pickup person noted in the reservation.

Do you charge late fees?
We charge $5 per day that your item is late. After 4 days of no-show, no-contact, we will assume the item is lost and charge the payment method the full cost of a replacement(s).

Can I donate?
Probably! You can email MakerShareColorado@gmail.com to inquire about donations of functional items.
